My family Morel Mushroom Recipe


🍄 Fried Morel Mushrooms 🍄

 
♧Go the woods and look  for morels all April and May. Usually, close to a creek, under cedar, or under Ash trees♧

PREP~Rinse your mushrooms in cold water then soak in a  cold salt water bath for 30 min. (all the bugs and  dirt come floating to the top).  Then give them another flush with cold water.   Cut each mushroom in half lengthwise. Lay flat on paper towels to dry. 

EGG WASH~Beat 2 Eggs, 1 cup of milk,  Salt and pepper (to your liking). 

DREDGE~ combine 2 cups flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Tony Catlchere's (to your liking). 

Fill Cast iron skillet 1/3 full with penut oil or Crisco. Heat to 350° over medium  heat. 

Dip mushrooms in egg wash, then roll in flour mixture, shake off excess flour, and carefully place in hot skillet. Fry till golden brown, flipping halfway  through.  Place on baking sheet with wire grid rack  or paper towels. Enjoy!
